I am 22 - just graduated from college and this is my first
year teaching. I am teaching 10th grade English. Thus far,
the year has not gone as I planned. My student teaching
experience was wonderful. The students were cooperative
and eager to learn, well-behaved, and I have very few
problems. My students this year are rude, disruptive, and
talkative. I can tell that they are pressing me to see how
far they can go. I look pretty young also, so they don't
really see me as a "real" teacher. It is only the 4th
week of school and I can't see myself making it to May.
Any suggestions? I dread going to school each day.
Please tell me that it gets better.

Hang in there, and don't let them see how you feel. Stay
strong and don't back down. I think you can have a lot of
fun this year.
