Are Media Specialist going to be around in 10 years? I am really starting to wonder. A couple of states have already gotten rid of us and I havent heard many reports about them having any problems because of it. Also, most Media Specialist I know have turned into Relief Teachers and Center Managers. With no real advocacy and or interest in the Media Center I fear extinction, your thoughts?
wolfe In this world it is futile to try to predict what anything will be in 10 years. If you are worried about a job in 10 years try getting some experience as an archivist. There will be billions of pages of web info that will need preserving and organizing, so if you have those skills you will be needed somewhere.

Cece I don't think we are heading for extinction, unless we refuse to adapt and evolve with the times!
