I am going to be teaching a Forensic Science unit next year to gifted 8th graders. I would love to incorporate some age/grade/developmentally appropriate literature into the class as well. The only novel that comes to my mind is To Kill a Mockingbird. Does anyone have other suggestions? Thanks!

Alexandra Chasing Vermeer is awesome! It also has two other books that are in a series but they may be hard to find. Since you are working with an 8th grade class, I would try to get a class set because they need to be able to "find" the mystery in the pictures. cavey I highly recommend the Literature and Thought series from Perfection Learning ( linked). In our district we use it for Gifted 6-8. The selections include poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
