It's about time. Not sure why the dragging of the feet. How has this lady not been removed from office yet? She should be impeached, and then tried for her threat to the president.
That's YOUR president, that YOU are defending. And your excuses and attempts to divert are transparent and demonstrate how phony your contempt is, and how intent you are to defend the indefensible.
Odd. No one is in denial of America's Aug 21 total solar eclipse. Like Climate Change, methods & tools of science predict it.
(End quote)
I, along with friends and family, drove to Kearney, Missouri and got a spectacular view. We not only knew where to go, but also knew just how long the total eclipse would last.
Yet again, no eclipse deniers! No one saying the scientists would get it wrong! Yet, the deniers persist with their compartmentalized thinking!
Do you doubt your local meteorolog...See MoreWell, TEC, it is very good science that predicted this eclipse. And the science that predicted it has been right again and again. Now, I do not deny that climate change is person-made. But, is Tyson wondering why people question science? Have all of the predictions on climate change been shown to be true?
Do you doubt your local meteorologist when he makes his predictions? How many times have you seen a storm completely miss? Or dump more than the expected amount of precipitation?
How many scientists doomsday predictions have not come to pass?
Just pointing out where some people could have their doubts from.
About "How many scientists doomsday predictions have not come to pass?", all of the doomsday issues I know of come with a probability of occurring - such as a massive iron asteroid hitting the earth.
And finally, this comment, "Just pointing out where some people could have their doubts from." Oh yes, and they usually do not have a clue how science works. Yet, as the post points out, they do not doubt the eclipse.
IMHO, those "doubts" are Americans saying, "I know as much as the experts and I disagree!" Your comment is an example of Isaac Asimov's famous quote:
(Quote)
The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."
(End quote)
PS: America needs better science education! Yet, many Americans have a list of things they do not want taught to their children.
Close the university of Virginia because it was founded by a slave owner... kind of iffy. Change the name of our country's capital... same.
Have someone be moved from one job to another because of his name? Ridiculous. I am not sure why you think that this change is ok. It is making a mockery of real problems. It trivializes those fighting for real change.
I wonder if this poor man will ever be able to advance in his career because some people, like you, believe his name is evil and he should pay the price for it.
"Officials at the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office of Albemarle County in Charlottesville said on Monday morning that four warrants had been issued for Mr. Cantwell's arrest. The office referred questions about the nature of the charges to the University of Virginia Police Department. A spokesman at the department did not respond to requests for comment on Friday, Saturday and Monday.
The Boston Globe reported on Thursday that the warrants were related to the "illegal use of gases, and injury by caustic agent or explosive."
http:/...See MoreFollow this story. Democrats working with Wassserman-Schultz have already been indicted for four counts of various fraud charges, but are now being investigated for selling secrets to Russians, Chinese, Pakistan, etc.
Keep watching for the spying. It was on Fox news this morning. Though, Google appears to be scrubbing this.
EasTexSteveI don't have to defend anything. They guy put sensitive data out there, and made it accessible by unauthorized personnel. Do you think he just did it for fun? There is a cause of action here. I'm just waiting to see how long it takes the liberal media to get around to calling him a spy.
The current monument issue is all about the horrors of slavery, and the condemnation of those who supported this economic system despite many of those men being honorable in most other ways (e.g. Robert E. Lee was not a vile person). Not to debate which system is worse, in the future, the world could just as easily condemn all of us for supporting capitalism in the same way we condemn those who supported slavery.
Remember, America is the richest country in the history of mankind. Yet, half of the population is in or near poverty. People go hungry, without health care, and without education in this richest of countries. I could go on, but there is no need. It is clear that America can do better than capitalism. Yet, we support our capitalist system which includes a slavery component in the 2.2 million adults that have been incarcerated in US prisons.
The point: we should not condemn the people of the past for beliefs that we have learned are wrong, because we want future generations to give us the same courtesy. Or as C. S. Lewis wrote:
(Quote)
History isn't just the story of bad people doing bad things. It's quite as much a story of people trying to do good things. But somehow, something goes wrong.
T.E.C. - IowaInterestingly, other countries try to make prison somewhat pleasant and they have a lower recidivism rate. Then again, America believes in punishment, as opposed to helping! Heck, as in food stamps and more, America thinks punishment is the best way to help!
Unfortunately, that's today's democrat party. This person should immediately resign for her hateful comments. It's amazing how few in power have come out against her hate speech.
At least her sky wizard talked her into apologizing. Hopefully we see her removal vote soon.
What office does the motor city mad man hold?
