Evaluations not accurate...

Our yearly evaluations for the children are due and the co-teacher has taken it upon herself to fill them out without the student present.Rather than take the time to test them,she fills them out randomly from memory.(?) Children who know their numbers (1 in particular)are listed as NOT knowing them.Today,I went to retrieve my half of the pile to discover that she has taken more than half of the papers home with her. She is picking her kid up from college,so they are now in another state. How would you all handle it?She trashes the director,the other teachers,says things about the kids,i.e. "one is gay",two are a little challenged because they are "Asian",(!) the list goes on and on. I've mentioned her,here, before,since she has talked about the children to her friends.She's friendly with members of the board,so politics comes into play,here.

I hate to be negative, but I would not count on her being cooperative next school year. I would explore other option...See More

maureen I am curious but how does this being lead one year but not the next work in your program? I have to agree with Leah though. Your co teacher is showing her true colors and I am afraid that a sudden respect for you just because you are "lead' is not promising. If anything, it will probably get worse. I assumed you would not be in the same room as her...See More

Preschool teacher The lead teacher is the one who works full time,which would be me, the director and the Educ. Coordinator. I was not the Lead Teacher last year because,even though I have the experience,degree(albeit an Assoc.), and am still taking classes, I was not full time. Preschool teacher Update: My co-teacher has decided not to return next year citing that the pay was too low. I have never worked with someone quite like this,so hopefully next year will be better.
