I have a policy of inviting parents, grandparents and other adults in to read a story to our class. I was approached by a mother today to ask if her 10 year old niece could come in and read s story. I have mixed feelings about this. I don't want word to get out that kids can come to read too. I doubt their ability to hold the classes attention......

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Leah I hear your concern. It is not easy to hold the attention of a class or preschoolers, especially for a child of 10.
