Doc Camera ???

Exactly what benefit is a doc camera? Is it like an overhead?

Yellow Rose I think the document camera is the best invention EVER. It is hooked up to my computer and to my promethean board. You can put anything up there for the kids to see. I use it to read books every day. The kids can read along with me and it's helping them with their fluency. I put math manipulatives on it to model for the students what they should be...See More

what else do I need? I do not have a Smart Board. To use a document camera, I would also need an LCD projector? Is that right? Can I use any white surface for class viewing?
