Hello: I've been out of the workforce for a while raising my family. I'm going back very part time this fall by teaching a physics class at our local community college as an adjunct faculty. I do have some college level teaching experience, but it's been a good 15 years since I've been in the classroom. The biggest change I'm noticing is how much is done online. The Chem/Physics/Engineering department at my college has decided to go to a program with online homework for this year. I'm wondering if any of you have experience with this. It seems great at first glance, but I'm concerned about "technical difficulties" since it is new to our university.

SSpil The college uses Angel for grades and communication. I've used it before so I'm comfortable with it. The homework site is different though. The department purchased it through the text supplier (Cengage) and it is a separate website. I can see all sorts of potential problems.

Thank you for your tips on the homework deadlines.

pixie The college where I am an adjunct uses blackboard and has regular training sessions and refreshers for faculty. Maybe your college has something like that.
