HI all, I'm currently a high school math teacher and have been for 6 years. I'm looking to move on. Not only to do I want to move states, but I'm thinking of community college. I have a masters. I'm just not sure of what kind of adjustment it would be. Thanks for any info that can be provided.

Leah I think it all depends on where you go? I'm sure there are full time math teachers at large community colleges

Math Teach I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps. I'm a graduate math student, with a B.A. in Math.

If money isn't too much of a problem, I would think that after taking courses like Fourier Methods and PDE's, teaching at a Community college might be more satisfying than 8th Grade Pre Algebra.

marjoryt First poster is correct; I'd be making more salary if I had stayed in a K12 environment; our state's educational funding is totally geared toward K12 and university - the legislature has been breaking its own law for several years to give ccs "midpoint."
