Last Wednesday I was given a 7th grade class of students that need direct instruction for our state writing test (TAKS). My focus is the multiple choice part of the test, not the composition. I need activity ideas that are hands on, interactive, and fun. I do not want to do worksheets the entire time. I would like ideas for foldables, games, sentence strips, my promethean board, etc. Here's a list of what I have to focus on: subjects/predicates fragments run-ons comma rules combining sentences transition words spelling prepositions correct usage of adjectives or adverbs subject/verb agreement off topic sentences
