My high school has taken all the students who need help passing the State Reading Assesment (Kansas) and have put them in reading intervention class, which meets for 25 minutes 4 times a week. Those of us teaching it are not English teachers(I am certified in English and ESOL, but have taught Spanish for the last 15 years-the other intervention teachers with me are generally foreign language and social studies teachers), and the curriculum they gave us was various lesson plans by the English teachers in our school. Some were less than stellar, and we are wondering if there is something out there we could purchase that focuses on reading intervention that we could do in 25 minute chunks? Any suggestions that you have would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!
