A friend and I ate in at St. Paul restaurant last Spring. I had this amazing chicken curry over basmati rice. It came with a mango sauce, a hotter sauce, and a yougurt and mint mixture on the side, to mix and match for different tastes. The curry was yellow, with sweet onions and sweet peppers. I have searched and searched but can't seem to find something that looks similar.

This is one of those dishes that was soooooooo good that I swear I can still taste it.

Also, I live in a very rural area, so will have to probably actually make everything versus being able to buy premade curry pastes (or whatever).

My tastesbuds thank you in advance, if you have any clue as to what I am trying to say:0)
ok Trader Joe's has lots of curries. I know you said rural, but maybe you have one of these? Grocery stores also sell this waxy block of curry (in the asian aisle), mix it with coconut milk and it's great (but full of bad fats).

Mel Thank you. No Trader Joe's but it never occured to me to check the Asian aisle, I will do so. I know, bad fats, but I won't be eating it every day. Wish I could, it was that good.

one box brand of curry I have had Indian curries, and while the Japanese-style curry I make at home from the "waxy block" the other poster mentioned is not the same, it is still pretty tasty, and easy to make.

If this pic works, it is of the brand I usually buy. "House" brand - Vermont Curry.

Mel My local stores don't carry it :0{. I have to go to Eau Claire, next week, so I'm going to check around there. The meal I had was just that good! Thanks for the suggestions, I will look for them.
