The government of Abu Dhabi has embarked on an ambitious school reform project with the aim of creating a world class bilingual education system. As part of this initiative, western teachers who are trained and experienced from a selected number of countries, called Licensed Teachers (LTs) are being hired to work in state schools across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

Licensed teachers receive top pay and benefits - about 30% higher pay than they get in nearby international schools - and work in state schools that are still developing resources and up to date systems.
