I like the way you do it, Muinteoir. Another ? I like that you are allowing teachers to be professionals. So far our district seems to be that way.

Which of the resources you have below would you rank as most used for 6- 8th grade science teachers?

Please allow me to ask you a couple other questions as you have some resources that are very costly. How did you (or your team) persuade the administration to part with the money? Seems that in many districts, departments all get the same budget. If the English department gets $500 a year, that is what science also gets.

My district is much smaller than you district; however, it is frustrating (but we do it) spending money out-of-teacher-pockets to pay for disposable items for many labs and activities. Is this something that happens in a district as large and full of resources, too?

common sense Take the money they would be paying you to write curriculum, buy good textbooks which come with tons of excellent consumables, workbooks, colored pics, technology backup, prewritten review tests, answer keys, etc., and go have a magarita.
