Does it matter if I write guided reading level on front of each book or back? What do you do?

Deb My GR levels are on the back of the book. I don't group them in baskets by levels though..but by theme, series, author. I really work with choosing the right book with the kids. Mrs. H We use the Accelerated Reader program as a supplement. For these books I put a color coded sticker on the binding and then taped over that. Leanne/CA I don't think it matters WHERE you label them, as long as you are consistent. I have experimented with a lot of different leveling systems in my classroom library, and the one that works the best is to sort the books by genre/title/etc. (All the Junie B. books are together, etc.) and then I labeled them with their AR level color coded sticker.
