I teach high school English, Computer Science, and Web Design and one of my favorite games is Boggle. Over the years, I have learned to embed my vocabulary words in games of Boggle, and then have the students compete against other students for fun and practice in class. The definitions are clues as to which words might be found in the game, so they have to know the defintions in order to play competitively. I used to create the games using Excel and display them on overhead transparencies. Later, I switched to Powerpoint and displayed games on a projection screen. I just finished programming a teacher utility that does the same thing, and I would appreciate having teachers test it and give me some feedback on its use. It is appropriate for all subject areas and all grade levels (as long as students have learned to read) but it only works on a PC right now, not a MAC. It can be downloaded from my classroom demonstration website at [link removed].
