Dear Teacher, I would like to invite you to have a look at a public consultation that may be of interest for you who is concerned with the accessibility of tests and examinations. The Consultation is live up to the beggining of September.If assessments are to be valid – if they are to assess what they purport to assess – then pupils and candidates must be able to understand the questions, whether or not they can answer them correctly. If complex sentence structures or confusing layout prevent the test- taker or examinee from understanding what a question is asking then it is not a valid assessment of the subject. This consultation will support the development of a set of guidelines to support the production of accessible tests and examinations.
