These are some of my frustrations with unions. One is the amount of money they spend with the focus on one political party, try to tell me how to vote, and require that I pay dues whether I want to or not. They barely gave any concessions which resulted in 70 jobs being cut in a devastating economy so the bulk of the people could get a raise. I've also witnessed massive waste of union dues dollars on food, drink, and meetings that don't really count for anything because those in power will do what they want any way. Last, they sometimes promote an us against them attitude, perpetuating a constant rift amongst district officials and teachers.

That being said, I've also seen them do many good things as well such as improve our working conditions and provide scholarships.
