What are the duties for an Instructional Technology Coordinator in you school system?

Do you teach classes where teachers get credits toward recertification (such classes as basic and/or intermediate MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)?

OR

Do you just coordinate these classes that are taught through the state or another entity?

Do you evaluate every piece of software before it is used in your school system and/or just make recommendations to the principals?

Do you post a list of software on the internet that is at each school so that parents, teachers, and principals at other schools can see what each other is using?

I am hoping to interview for such a position but, of course, the job description is vague. I want to be prepared for anything so - what does an Instr. Tech. Coordinator do in your school system? Thanks.
no longer wondering Just got an email. Budget cuts. Position not happening. It is a shame. I see so much in this county that could be improved with this position. Oh well, guess the Lord wants me somewhere else.

Been There I am in the same situation as you. I was an instructional tech coordinator for 11+ years and due to budget cuts, I lost my position last year and I'm back in the classroom. I'm applying for all and any instructional tech positions but nothing yet. Hang in there!
