I had a teacher friend who told me several years ago that his Florida school had a grade of D. He sent his daughter, however, to a school that had a B grade. That is when I discovered Florida graded their schools. I wonder...does Florida still do this, and I also wonder how many states do this, too.
Tallytchr The grades are mostly based on FCAT scores. However...the model is set up to reward improvement in FCAT scores. A school that improves it's FCAT scores from 50% to 60% average could earn an A, while a school with a previous year's average of 95% could slip a few percentage points and earn a B.
