Can I have a life and teach

I'm doing q pdge. I keep hearing about the long hours etc. Is it possible to do 8.30 to 5 and not have loads of work to do at home. Im not considering trying to be a head teacher but have thought about pastoral care. So far what I've seen looks fairly simple compared to previous jobs.

Novel You could be amazingly incredibly organised and efficient and perhaps keep it to those hours, but it's unlikely you will consistently manage that. Which subject/age do you think you might teach?
