Ummm...I am not an art teacher, but this is an idea I had as a way to get to know your students names, a little about them, and make it into a fun craft idea.

You can take a large piece of white paper, a posterboard (any color the student wants) or maybe some long white cardstock. What you are going to do is have the students make a collage of words that describe them all centered around their name. I am also a writer and keep a Thesaurus handy so looking at that little book gave me this idea. You can have them print/paste, draw, paint etc. the words any way they want and maybe add some designs in there that go along with things that they like to do. (You could have musical notes for chorus/band people or maybe headphones for people who like music, skateboards, skate tracks etc. You know what I am talking about.)
