Do you have an Iditarod interest center in your classroom
and do you connect Iditarod as a theme when teaching your
curriculum and standards? Do you hold an Idita-read,
Idita-walk, or other activities? I'd enjoy chatting with
you about your ideas and what you do or helping you get more
ideas. With Gary Paulsen entering the 2007 race, it is a
great year to teach his novels and connect the race. Many
other math, science, and other areas can be connected, too.
If you are looking for a service learning project, you
could make decorations for the musher's banquet in Alaska or
donate new books to schools in Alaska that would appreciate
new books for students to read. I am intersted in chatting
and sharing ideas! Diane
