I am a PE teacher but want to begin a graded recycle "class" for my students. I have approx. 180 girls and thought assigning 6 girls per week throughout the school year to collect and organize the recycle bins would be a great start...now I am stuck...how do I grade? How do I maje sure they complete thier tasks? Where do I go with all the recycle material? We use to have a recycle program in our school but it was stopped because there was no company anywhere close who would pick up the items! Any help would be great!
Grading wise, make some kind of rubric such as responsibilities completed in a timely fashion, items separated correctly, team work when sorting, etc. You could also have the girls grade each other in those regards. Our PE teacher does these really fun games with recycled plastic grocery bags. They stretch with them, juggle them, throw them up, turn around and catch them; all sorts of neat things. Hope this helps!

WEll, for my Senior project my sister and I are remodeling the community volunteer library in our town. We have tons of books that are old, discolored, torn, and some are even moldy! I was wondering if anyone had any idea of what i could do with them(if someone wants them, they're free). Or maybe if anyone knows of a place where I can take them to recycle. Thanks, Florencia D.

Blue Curl's goal for this year is to help eliminate 1000 tons of CO2 from schools throughout BC and at the same time make computing a much better experience for all involved. We are a non-profit private foundation that is developing a free online school, with our first subject to develop being English as a Second Language. If you look at our website now, we have a rough structure developed, but it is not up to par with what we want. I am meeting with several major website development firms to redo the site and bring the vision I had 3 years ago to reality. I'm also trying to organize a group of teachers to help develop the ESL content for the site. If interested, or for more information, please contact me at [email removed].
I am bilingual, speaking English as primary language and Spanish as the second. I taught Spanish grammar for 5-6 years at a private school. I have a son that is fourteen that I am homeschooling this year. I need a free online homeschooling program. I would love to be involved with the ESL program!!! I read and write Spanish fluently. Please contact me if you are interested. Teresa Phillips
