I am doing the Great Mail Race this year with my class. I tried last year and did not receive any responses. If you would like to participate, please post your school contact information or email me. I read previous post about the Great Mail Race from last year, so if any of you are willing to participate again, please let me know. Thanks!
So far, my students have signed up for these states. However, even if your state is not listed, please respond. Thank you! :)
Ohio California Kentucky Texas North Dakota Hawaii Arizona Massachusetts Mississippi Tennessee Michigan
Keri, Every state you send letters to is supposed to respond to your letter.

So is this a letter instead of post cards? I know some people do postcard exchanges...so I am just clarifying...

For the past three years, our Kindergarten students have been studying science trends over time with the addition of a bird feeder just outside of our classroom window. Daily, when the students do calendar, they do the same old weather and such - but we added having them count the number of birds at the feeder, what colors of birds are there, and how much seed was eaten daily. It's been an amazing project for students to find application to tally marks, graphing, and more.
We've decided to branch out this year and see if other Kindergarten classes in North America would be interested in linking up with ours to share similar data from their rooms. This would give us a chance to compare graphs, talk about migration patterns of birds, and learn more about other communities.
If you're interested in joining with us, we'd love you to hear from you.
Our third year postcard exchange needs the following states: HI, MN, MT, NM, OR, SC, SD, VT, WY, and DC Please consider joining us. It is a wonderful project that the children love and a creative way to teach geography! Please email me for more details or to sign up. [email removed]
Hi, If you are interested in participating in this project, please e-mail me. The idea is to make a gingerbread person and decorate it to represent the state you live in. I will put together a list of interested participants and you will need to send a gingerbread person to everyone on the list. Hopefully, they will all send one back to you. :)
My fourth grade classroom is interested in having travel buddies to experience the different regions of the US. Our curriculum focuses on the environment, natural resources, jobs, and people of the regions of the US. We would like to be able to learn what other regions are like. We are located in a rural community of Kansas.
This activity sounds PERFECT for what we are doing in our 3rd and 4th grade classes this year. Our classes have two grades in each room (multiage). I teach 18 students, and we are focusing on the regions of the USA. The kids are researching an assigned state and creating brochures. We are currently focusing on agriculture, products/resources etc. We are in Pennsylvania. Please share what you are thinking for this activity and hopefully we can make this work. Please email me at [email removed].

We are a project based high school. We are a replication model of the New Technology schools out of California. We team teach Civics/ Economics and English. This project will allow us to learn the court system. Our project is to put Cinderella’s evil step mother on trial for child abuse. Then we will put her on trial for violating Cinderella’s Civil Rights. We will also tie in world literature by reading different versions of the Cinderella story. We ask each school to send us a local version or an international version of Cinderella. We will then post the different versions.
Keri,
Every state you send letters to is supposed to respond to your letter.
