The Miss Tennky Area AFS Team needs a replacement family for Tinn from Thailand. He has been a student at Mt Juliet HS, but we have not been able to find another host in the area. Where we have found a family, the schools would not take another exchange student and where we have found schools we have not found a family. Tinn is a great all round guy who loves studying and has great English skills. He also likes children, science, math and plays piano. If you would like more information, please, contact Becky Heywood (Temp parent. they live in MNPS which will not take any more students until semester.) at [email removed].)

Have an AFS (awesome, fantastic and stupendous) weekend.
I have an opening in a postcard exchange for a classroom from Alabama. We will be starting in the next week or so if anyone out there would like to join. Email me at amandaandrews10@gmail.com and I can give you more information. Thanks!
We were overwhelmed with the number of original volunteer project ideas we received. A winner was chosen - Sam Harshbarger of Cranbury, NJ - and he and four other students received full scholarships to bring his vision into action on a customized, two-week program to document indigenous Russian populations. Watch an interview with one of the participants.
As a result of last year’s success, Project: Change is back, and bigger than ever. You will see that it is featured prominently throughout the Scholastic materials. We also encourage you to spread the word to inspired teenagers in your community. They’ll have the chance to learn about real issues affecting our world today, and expand their thinking to come up with ways in which they could be part of the solution. See what Project: Change is all about.
Last year Catlyn Ellis ( who is now a freshman at UTK) and was a senior at Rossview HS from Clarksville, TN, was one Mthe four national winners who won a trip to Russia to explore her project.
Thanks for your support. Have an AFS (awesome, fantastic and stupendous) day. Locally, contact Sandy Rich (TDS) at [email removed]])

Hello, I am a certified teacher in Georgia, and I have applied for an Alabama certificate under reciprocity. I have sent in all the paperwork and been fingerprinted. How long does it take to hear from the certification department? I have looked on TCERT, and the only thing that shows up so far is my fingerprint clearance. Thanks for your help!
I am a tenured PA teacher who is certified in Special Education, Reading Specialist, and ESL Program Specialist. My family and I are considering moving to the Florence- Huntsville area next summer. How are the job prospect in that area, and what are working conditions for teachers in AL versus PA? Thanks for all your input!
