If you have three or more years of teaching pre-k thru third in the last ten years then you only need subject knowledge. Look on ADE cert. also if only teaching first thru sixth grade do not need at all.

If you don't have access to that then you better join your local association. Things happen no matter how conscientious you are with kids and it just takes one mistake or accident. remember even if you are in the right you may still need to pay for a lawyer to defend yourself. Don't count on your school system being willing to do that no matter what they say. I've seen lawyer fees wipe out teachers and the schools not lifting a finger to help.
The advice to get insured now and spare no expense is excellent. I wouldn't teach without it.

Where I am you have to do a 2 year program, that you can only do if you have an actual normal teaching job. Kind of hard to do when there arent any. Subbing and tutoring doesn't count. You have 5 years to finish the 2 years, thus if you dont have a
