I need clarification. A principal at my school directed me twice to let a student finish his AIMS test on the last day because the student complained that he did not have enough time to complete the writing and after sleeping on the test response he gave -- requested more time to complete the test. I refused because I understood the rules did not allow that. I went to my testing coordinator in a mental uproar because I knew that was against the rules. She talked to a few other teachers and they advised me to go along with the principal's request. I refused to follow that advice. I looked into the "cheating rules" in Arizona and according to what I was told -- the final decision as to whether cheating takes place rests with the principal. I know what happened in Yuma with the cheating scandal and I need to know how many others have run into this situation. I am disgusted and more than disheartened with this professsion.
