Give AZ a chance Quokka, You will find disgruntled teachers everywhere. Starting salaries in the Phoenix are are $39K for BA with no experience teaching. If you are licensed from out of state, they make it easy now to get your license since new laws passed. Arizona needs good teachers. If you are considering it, please come! dm Pros and cons....I love living in AZ - especially in the winter:) I hear complaints from many teachers who taught in another state and then came to AZ. I only knew AZ so I didn't know what it was like anywhere else. Pay among public schools is posted on districts' websites. Pretty much the same.
