Hi all, Florida teacher here. Given the political climate in Florida, my wife and I are ready to leave Florida for bluer pastures, and we are looking at California. I'm an art teacher who is also involved in photography, video production, and I have published two graphic novels. Are there any teachers here willing to give me some insight on what it's like teaching in California?

California is a very big place with very different schools. On the plus side for you, California passed Prop 28 a few years ago guaranteeing a certain amount of Art educational funding, so that helps to somewhat guarantee art jobs. Still, like much of the country, Art teacher jobs are sometimes hard to find.
