Hi, I was wondering if folks could recommend how best to find teaching opportunities (preferably mathematics or science), or even general recommendations on get into the field of teaching? I've been considering teaching for years, but have only recently found myself in a position where I can consider the career change without horribly jeapardizing the stability of my family. I've worked as an analytical chemist and training manager at Pfizer for ~11 years, and though I'm applying for the 9 week certification program starting this coming summer, will likely need to consider private school opportunities only at this time due to my lack of certification. You don't necessarily need certification. I'm a graduate of last summer's ARC program. I'm teaching as a long term sub. My 90 day certificate didn't get activated, as the CT Ed department considered a "Beyond 40-day sub authorization " to be more appropriate. I'm paid the same as a Step 1 BA. ...See More
