I've taken my GKTs, I completed and paid for the FL DOE application, sent in my transcripts to the DOE, and I have my TeacherMatch profile completed (for Miami Dade County).
How long do GKT results usually take? They sent that I passed the 3 multiple choice subtests but the essay is pending.
Also, how far away am I from receiving my Statement of Eligibility? Unless I'm mistaken that's what I need from the state to begin working.
flteacherMy state of elligibilty came after 3 months. But they said it was a busy period. Essay result usually takes 3 to 4 weeks. After you got your elligibilty you can apply for positions, you don't need to wait for essay result because even if you didn't pass the essay portion, after being hired, you will have one year to complete your GK. Good luck ;)
JeannieWhat helped me prepare for this test is using quizlet. I just wanted to say that I took GKT reading portion and finally passed. The passages I had were on day of dead and food comparison, Eats Buchanan and two others I can't remember. I hope this helps
MindcraftI had the same issue. I received the email without the activation key. I used t he computer and cliked on "unsuscribe" in the same email and then it worked.
User123Hi everyone! So today I took my exam. I had the same reading topic: Buchanan, day of the dead and food ADDITIVES, print paper and barefoot runners. Essay topics were teaching strategies for diverse students and keeping up with technology in the classroom.
I took the examen today. The reading passages were barefoot, Eads Buchanan, comparison of food additives and the day of the death, and comparison of acid in the sheets of books or something like that

The reading was about Eads, barefoot running, day of dreads and preservatives put in foods can't remember the others
I passed the math and ELS... NavaEd is good for all of this, made a 7 on essay 1st time only have two examples instead of three. I know that's why I got a 7. 4 paragraph is best... it's what teachers teach in the classroom and to the FTCE elementary test.
