Bad references

I was let go years ago from a temporary teaching position in Broward County. It was my first job as a teacher. I wasn't told a reason just that "my services are longer needed". I want to teach again but I'm not sure my last supervisor will even remember me or give me a reference. What steps can I take in order to secure a teaching position? I live in Osceola County.

anon It would appear you would probably have to "start all over" again and substitute teach in order to get references and try to "worm your way" back into the field.
