Now that Georgia has switched to TKES, should I be worried? Does anyone with many years of teaching experience have an opinion they would like to share? I'm curious if I need to make a run for the exit door soon! Any insight is welcomed. Thank you!
Like with all evaluation systems, if you are doing your job, then it's fine. I've been dealing with TKES going on 3 years now. It's the same game, different check boxes.

Several years ago, counties were given the option to take out SS or not. Many of the counties opt not take out SS. You need to check with the county. I'm sure there must be of a list of counties that do or don't. Anne

Hello, my name is Katie. I currently attend Geand Canyon University, based in Arizona. They have an online degree for Masters in Elementary Education. I need someone I could interview about school assessment procedures.

15 years into teaching elementary and I need a change bad!! Anyone have advice about switching to teaching high school? What I could expect and can I just tale the gace to do it? Thank you!!
Other major differences include not having the same kids all day, but teaching more kids per day (up to 130 or more, depending on the schedule). Also, the number of subjects you will teach will be fewer. You could just teach one single subject all day, or up to three different ones. You might teach the same subject with different grades, such as 9th and 10th grade English. Some places keep the kids in the same classes all year, others change completely at the semester.
Does anyone know where I can find more information about the possible changes to Georgia's TRS? I've heard there are some negative things in the pipeline.

After getting frustrated with the dismissal process at my kid's school, I set out to modernize the system so parents have more control and flexibility, and to also quiet the end of day so teacher's don't pull their hair out!
