Hello - I am moving to the Douglasville area this summer - I wanted to get an overall opinion of the surrounding counties as far as which might be better to apply in. I'm a Pre-K ESE teacher but have interest in other primary grades as well.

I am certified as an ECE through 5th grade but want to teach middle school. How do I go about getting certified for middle school? Do I have to get a masters? Or can I challenge GACE?

Hello, does GA system credit years of service from other states? Is this system still defined contribution? I read about changes online, but I am wondering if those changes happened. Thanks
Only 6 years and you have to buy it as air time, very expensive. If I were you, I would not move to teach in GA. Pay performance and 98&37; of the school districts for the 2016-2017 school year will be either Charter or IE2 school districts. This means there is no due process and the districts can pay you what they want, not for an advance degree or years of experience. The state is making it look as if teachers will be paid more, but the reality is that they will actually make less if they have an advance degree. There will be no job security for you. I will be moving out of GA as soon as I get vested and returning to my home state. If you do not have to move here, don't. There is a lot more going on than what I have mentioned. 49&37; of GA teachers leave in the first 5 years. This is before all these other changes. Do your homework before you leave your state.

By mutual agreement—that means by resignation of the employee and the acceptance of such resignation by the employer. *Educators should not resign without first contacting the PAGE legal department. By dismissal from employment for cause after a hearing is held.
What are the consequences if a professional employee resigns from his/her position without the consent of the employer?
Such act constitutes breach of contract and abandonment of position. It may subject the educator to action taken by the PSC against his or her certificate. The educator could also be sued for breach of contract.
I retured 6-1-2015. My ga trs award letter says that my 1st check will be mailed on or after 6-15-15. Does anyone know if they are really mailed out on the 15th?
Does anyone know the air time purchase cost for three years is? TRS would not tell me until I have at least 25 years of service. I do have 24 years but want to know in advance in order to start saving. Best!
