I am not sure about the other metro counties but DeKalb still has lots of teacher postings on its job board. I know for a fact that my principal is looking for an art teacher for my school. Check out the DeKalb website.
I am completing my masters degree in elementary special ed and going to take the next GACE test in October. I live near Mall of GA but willing to travel to find a study group to help pass the GACE test. I am also going to take the middle school math in November.
Anybody want to study together. They say, "two heads are better than one".

I will have our technical folks to look at this. We have had some issues in the past...dealing with the settings, etc., which will cause a service like McAfee to put up this warning. I have a very tough anti virus company and it cause no delay of getting on the MACE website. I think that it is something peculiar with McAfee but I definitely will pass on the word tomorrow and see if we can get it straightened out. We've had to call Google before, and Google got it corrected. Thanks for informing me! John.

If a teacher reitré with 25 years of service in georgia, may they retire midyear without jeopardizing their teaching certificate, or is it a breach of contract?
Presumably, you've done the math here, too. Your retirement benefits will be calculated on your two top years' salary. If you are making more this year than in previous years it might be worth it to stick it out.

I took 51/2 days off when our first grandchild was born
BrendaWhere I've taught, sick leave days could be used for immediate family care. To be realistic, though, I think a lot of it depends on where you work, how supportive your school and district administration is, and how honest you want to be when you need to be absent. I think your reason for using leave time is valid.
In my district, and there over 100 different districts in GA, we use the GA online content as supplementary to textbooks and other resources. We still follow the GA Common Core standards (CCGPS), though.
