Hi, I am currently in school pursuing my eraly ch. degree
in Oklahoma, I will graduate from Kansas eventually
though. I hear the teaching market is saturated and have
been getting alot of negativity when it comes to finding a
job. Did anyone else have a hard time finding a job after
graduation? Teaching is really what I want to do. I am not
a youngster but more of a career changer. Any info would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Tish!
Honestly it depends on where in KS you will be. I just
graduated this past spring and am still without a regular
teaching position. For me, in the Kansas City Metro area
(Johnson County), I have had the hardest time getting a
permanent position because the market is saturated, as you
mentione...See More

anything close to the border. I plan on taking my Oklahoma
state license test also. The pay is much worse but I really
just want to teach, I don't care where and for how much. Good
luck ...See More

couple years. I did have people contacting me all the way from
Dodge City, but that was just way to far away for me! You
definitely have a great attitude, though - many people say to ...See More

Hi Tish!
I would definitely agree with Daisy on the saturated job market. I have my degree in
Early Childhood Special Education and live in Lawrence. I applied all over this area and
got a job working for Head Start in Topeka. I am SO thankful for my job, for I love the
program.

However, I do have to...See More

Thanks everyone for all your input. I guess I have no choice but
to finish my degree, which is another 3 years and hope for the
best. This is really what I want to do and that is what life is
about, right? I live next door to the superintendent of our
schools, my kids are friends with the princepals kids, an...See More
