I signed a contract only to be called by the district close to my home. Is there a penalaty for cancelling a contract or can I even get out of the contract? I desperately want out of the contract.
I am interested if anyone knows about or has experience with having a TRSL pension AND have put money into Social Security from another job. Do you receive both benefits when you retire? I've heard that you don't b/c of LA double dipping laws. . . one of apparently 15 states. Does anybody have any insight? Thanks.
CruellaLouisiana is one of the states that has Social Security offset. Your benefits from ss are substantially reduced. You can call TRSL and they will answer questions for you. The representatives I have spoken with were very knowledgable and courteous.
I hope you can get your breaks, get another aide (is this possible?), and/or can move to a different area of special ed. Boy, our job is a hard one. Good luck to you
A degree from WGU is gold. WGU is owned and formed by former Sec. of Education Paige and other former Dept. of Ed. croanies of Geroge Bush. It has the blessing of the educational policy formulators in D.C. Any state dept. of education should approve it.
There is another less known university in Detroit. It is a small Catholic school. It is Mary ______ College. I do not recall the last part of the name. An online masters costs only $12,000 and takes up to 3 years.
