MTEL: Biology content test prep advice

I recently took the Biology content MTEL exam and thought I would just share some of my experiences which may help others. I am returning to teaching 10 years after graduating, so needed to freshen up on my content knowledge for the test. I studied primarily out of a current High School Biology textbook. I also used YouTube where I found some excellent videos covering many subject areas, this took a bit of searching but lots of good stuff (and plenty of not so good stuff, so you have to sort through it). The videos really drilled home a lot of the content and helped it to "Stick" in my mind. Wikipeda was helpful for expanding on info in the textbook that I wanted more clarification or details on. I also made flash cards of the "big ideas" as well as some of the specifics I needed to work on. I ended up with excellent scores, and also took the Praxis II: Biology content exam (for other state certs) and received an award of excellence for scoring in the top 15 percent.
