I teach students with severe special needs at the grade school level. This is my first year full time and I have to create MCAS-alt portfolios for three of them. My problem is matching their skills to one of the strands. My students do not respond, vocalize or move to most stimuli. Mostly just eye gaze and some head movement. I keep coming up with ideas and dismissing them. Has anyone had any success with preparing alternative assessments with students like mine?
