The powers that be want to allow charter schools in this state. I taught in charter schools in AZ and what I saw was so horrible I would never wish it upon this state. Teachers were working 60 to 80 hours a week and paid starting salaries in the low $30,000 range if the graduate had advanced degrees. Teachers were recruited from groups that a former president and hedge fund player had a financial stake in. Corruption was rampant and the overcrowded conditions and few supplies sent teachers running for another profession after a year or two. Please do not let this happen in this wonderful state.
