Looking at employment opportunities in the Boston area (SchoolSpring, etc.), it seems like it's the norm for applicants to have access to their letters of recommendation. As in, they're not confidential at all. Some application systems even look to require that the applicant upload those letters him/herself. Am I missing something? It seems so strange to ask my references to share their letters with me. Is there no way to keep them confidential?
