Hi Everyone:

I finally have settled on my pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher. I am about to enroll in classes at PG community college and I wanted some advice on if I should look to take the Praxis soon and if I should bother paying to take a Praxis preparation course? I also wanted to know if I should forget all of that and get into one of the teacher programs like the Resident Teacher Program or the teaching fellows. Any advice would help.

Thanks in advace.

There was a "teacher shortage" at that time so maybe they made it easy to pass.To prepare, I just used t...See More

Been There Hi,

First, congrats on your decision. Second, you should try to get into a resident teacher program like the one PG County offers, but they aren't taking anyone until next April (to start the following school year) and they could potentially discontinue the program altogether, because frankly teaching jobs are hard to come by at the moment...See More

iteach2 See if PGCC offers Praxis prep courses for free. Sometimes colleges/universities will offer review for the Praxis for free.
