A good friend of mine recently moved to Michigan after having lived in Canada for the better part of the last decade. She is a certified teacher and wishes to continue teaching in Michigan. However, she has been told that in order to be registered as a teacher in Michigan she has to have a teaching degree from a Michigan school. I find this utterly ridiculous, and she does not have the money (or interest) in taking another 2-3 years for a degree she does not need. Does anyone know how someone can register in Michigan with a Canadian teachers license?
