I work at a school in Detroit. I'm a Spec Ed caseload manager for 31 students (elementary setting). Service provider to 22 of those same students. Do schools outside of metro area have this high of a caseload? Admin says they can't find another spec ed teacher, seems a little questionable considering I applied to close to 70 Spec Ed jobs just 3 years back and it was tough getting a job. Very hard to believe the job market changed that drastically even considering that the Mich teaching test became more difficult. Do other districts cut corners like this?
