Hello all. I recently received my B. A., and have decided that I want to get my Masters in Education. Before I start the program, I want to do a little Substitute teaching, so I can get the feel, and decide what grades I'd like to teach. Well, unfortunately I have a trespassing violation from 3 years ago on my record. Does anyone know if this will ...See More

I am in a sophomore at a community college. And the state decided our sophomore year we have to take this Sophomore Portfolio Assessment class. During the course, each student must do three activites and write small page papers on your experience. Then, at the end, there is a research paper that is not an expansion on the other 3 papers, but the id...See More

M I have a cousin who might be interested. Money is tight for her family. How long does it take to get the compensation...is it when the visit is over or several months later. I am thinking it would be difficult for her to come up with the money for gas if it will take a long time for reimbursement. Good luck in your study. It is a very good cause.

Hello! I am currently teaching in Illinois and I am interested in applying for positions in Missouri. Will my Illinois certification allow me to teach in Missouri? Do I need to take the Praxis?

    THANKS!
Stephanie Hey, I actually did this exact same thing in May. I graduated from college in IL and was offered a job in MO. There is a form on their website (dese.mo.gov I think) and you can print that off and you mail that back with your IL certificate and your official transcripts. You will have to be re-fingerprinted. It was a relatively painless process. It ...See More

Looking for a job as a gifted ed coordinator. Does anyone know of any openings in the St. Louis or surrounding areas? Thanks.
Does anyone know of a website that has lessons plans that follow the Missouri GLEs? My district requires teachers to write their own curriculum in science and social studies. I can do this time-consuming job, but if there is a website that has the MO GLEs already incorporated into lesson plans I'd like to go there and get ideas instead of inventing...See More

Sarah Have any of you created a YEAR-long time line designating how long one can spend on each GLE and still finish all of them, plus review for MAP in one school year? I'm especially interested in junior high Science.
