M It's a little early to see those posted. Right now districts with early retirement programs will be getting those notifications by late Jan. Then positions are posted for transfer for teachers within the district. They start looking outside the district in the Spring (March for some of the bigger districts). Unemployment

Does anyone know if you are laid off by a district do you qualify for unemployment (Missouri)?

bmeyers Yes, you do. If your contract is not renewed with no reason given you can claim unemployment as well. Be sure to get started with the claim early as teachers filing for unemployment automatically get investigated to make sure that they are not just unemployed for the summer (with or without pay) and that they were not fired with reason.

I am an National Board Certified Oklahoma Middle School teacher moving to the Branson, MO area this summer. Can anyone tell me the pay scale (20 yrs experience), if you have any incentives for NBCTs, and where to start in getting certified to teach in MO.

Welcome, Kim from Sharyl Where are you from in Missouri? Are you planning to move into the actual Branson area specifically, or a bit outside the area? In other words, do you have a town in mind other than Branson?

I can't tell you the answers to your questions. I do teach in SW Missouri and we're not on a really high payscale.
