I am hoping someone can tell me if the students taking the
MAP test can mark in their test booklets. I'm really
thinking of the reading section. Can they underline
important words, and things of that nature? If someone has
this information I would greatly appreciate your help.

Yes. That is no problem to write in the test booklets like
you are describing. It doesn't hurt or help as far as
scoring goes. It is important that when they answer that
all of their answers are in the designated areas, because
when they are scored they take the books apart and scan them

responses are needed for an item. They can number each
question within an item, and write a corresponding number in
the answer to assure they have answered each question. Just
