ElementaryTeach2003, be sure you look at just how reduced your pension will be -- with your age, if you leave at 20 years, you're only going to get 50% of what you could get if you "max out" at 30 years. I'm not guessing at 50% -- I checked the chart. That's a huge reduction.

If you just can't stay in the classroom, could you see yourself taking on a different job in the system? For example, a teacher I work with just "stepped down" to become an EC assistant. How about school receptionist or working in the attendance office? It's just disappointing to put in 20 years and walk away with so little.
