I am moving to New Hampshire at the end of November, because my fiance is being stationed there. I knew it would be difficult to look for a position mid year and didn't expect to find one, but now I'm losing hope that I will ever be able to teach in New Hampshire, because of the certification requirements. I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in French and German Education. I completed my student teaching and then went off to teach English in Martinique for about 5 months. So, all in all, I only have about a year of teaching experience and requirements say I need 3 years. I'm certified to teach French in DE only. I see there are other options for certification, like creating a portfolio and presenting it to the school board. But, I honestly, don't even know where to begin with that. Any advice you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

I am almost sure you could go through an alternative program if someone is interested in hiring you.

You can also check with the state to see what more you need to do to get certified in NH. Might be a few courses more.
